Good news! Gmail has recently added a new feature to the built-in gchat. You can now install a plugin (link below) and webchat right from your email. There is also a talk feature if you want to just use a microphone without the visual component.
I’m pretty impressed. It couldn’t be easier to use, and works on any browser that has the plugin installed. If you have never used a webcam before, Google is also offering some great deals for purchasing one through partner organizations. See below for the links
